Lovable Cloud

Lovable Cloud is Lovable's built-in backend offering, which gives an app a managed database, authentication, and file storage provisioned from inside the Lovable builder so non-technical users don't have to wire up a backend themselves. Under the hood it builds on managed infrastructure (Supabase/Postgres for data and auth).

Also known as: Lovable backend

Because the backend is provisioned for you, the same responsibilities still apply — Row-Level Security policies, schema design, and key handling all matter for a Lovable Cloud app. Teams that outgrow the managed setup, or want full ownership of their infrastructure, sometimes migrate the project onto their own accounts.

Common mistake: assuming that because Lovable Cloud sets up the database and auth for you, security is handled too — it is not. The managed setup provisions the infrastructure, but you still own the RLS policies, the schema, and which keys are exposed to the browser, exactly as you would on a hand-built Supabase project.
